Seth and I will always remember the good food, conversation, and fun that we had at Jeannine's house when Julian cooked for us in August 2012. It was wonderful to have a cookout meal together with extended family and introduce everyone to our then 4-month old baby girl Lucinda. We fondly remember how great Julian was with our little Lucy. Seth thought this was most remarkable because he himself was not that attune to little ones when he was Julian's age. Julian was a bright, spirited young man - we will always hold that trip to Seattle and time together in our hearts.

Ian Mackenzie remembers when he and Julian were in the soccer playoffs (8th grade?). Julian's team the Wildcats were Number 1 and Ian's team the Thunderlizards were Number 2. They had to play each other. I remember seeing the two friends on the field on opposite sides with other kids razzing them and telling them they better play their best even though they were friends. I don't remember who won but it had no effect on their strong friendship.

One day Aunt Nene told Julian and I that her neighbor's cat had kittens that needed a home. We were so excited to go and pick out a kitten. I remember praying there would be an orange cat, and praying even harder that Julian wouldn't want it! But he went right for a cute little black and white cat and it was love at first sight. I got my wish granted too and got to take home an orange striped cat I named Scrappy. Here he is with Zee Zee, another cat they got around the same time. He loved them both very much, and they loved him.

I think he had just lost a tooth (or three!) in this pic. He was always smiling and laughing. He was fun to be around, I loved babysitting him!

I'm not sure where he was going in this pic, but his bunny was always with him. Look at those chubby cheeks! You just wanted to squeeze them!
